Mike Broomhead to Emcee the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation Gathering of Heroes Event

Apr. 11, 2023, PHOENIX — Mike Broomhead, Phoenix-based radio and television personality, will serve as master of ceremonies at an event honoring prominent veterans, military members and first responders on Thursday, June 8 at American Legion Post 34 in Cave Creek. The event, known as the Gathering of Heroes, is an annual reception presented by the Arizona Chapter of the Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF) in support of its mission to provide funding to the children of fallen servicemembers.

Broomhead has emceed Presidential rallies and has spoken at some of the largest pro-troops rallies in the nation. Inspired by the service and sacrifice of his brother Tom, who lost his life in Iraq on Memorial Day in 2003, Broomhead advocates for veterans, active military, first responders and volunteers, especially in Arizona. Broomhead also spent time on the George W. Bush campaign and was the master of ceremonies for two Presidential visits to Arizona.

Currently, he hosts the Mike Broomhead Show Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on KTAR 92.3 FM in Phoenix.

“We are thrilled to have Mike Broomhead emcee our Gathering of Heroes event,” Steve Hooper, the MC-LEF committee chairperson said. “His commitment to advocating for veterans across the country and passion for fighting for the freedoms of Americans, makes him the perfect fit for this event. We look forward to having him inspire, honor and entertain our audience.”

The Gathering of Heroes reception will honor Arizona veterans, military members and first responders, and also features a concert by Arizona native country western musician Josh Scott. The event is open to the public for $20 at the door. Guests can expect dinner, live music, a silent auction and fellowship with the local military community. The Gathering of Heroes is also a prelude to the foundation’s main fundraising event, the 18th Annual Arizona Golf Tournament, which will be held on Friday, June 9 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale.

All proceeds from the Gathering of Heroes and the 18th Annual Arizona Golf Tournament directly fund the mission of MC-LEF to provide each child of a fallen member of the Marine Corps or any Federal Law Enforcement Agency with a $35,000 educational fund. Last year’s

tournament alone garnered over $60,000 toward the cause. Overall, the foundation has raised over $90 million nationally and $1.9 million in Arizona since its inception.
